You are one of the Marked. A group shunned for a mark on their chests they are born with. Many across the world will call you "beast" but you know that is not who you are. The name you choose is <<textbox "$name" "">> and the color that defines you is <<textbox "$color" "">>. Your parents were ashamed of you but hid your mark from the world to keep you safe. You follow the path ahead of you. The path is unmarked and untended but an ancient cobble path continues off into the forest. After a brisk walk you encounter a mossy wall, probably a fallen tree covered with the decompisition of a warm grave.
The moss is thick and there is no way of knowing what is behind it without first removing it. You could of course use your hands but a tool may be more effective.

<</if>>You quickly and easily cut through the moss blanket with your knife. The tint of the knife contrasts the moist blanket and you begin to uncover what was underneath the moss. You uncover that underneath the wall of moss is a rusting iron alloy. From a quick slash with your knife you are able to tell that it is far tougher then iron and yet appears very similar to it.
You manage to find a whole into the rusted iron wall and discover an extensive interior buried just under the surface of the forest floor. Inside are blank glass windows darkened through some unknown method on top of tables outfitted with levers and buttons of glass and some foreign material. You crawl along the once walls of the building now buried sideways until you reach an empty doorframe. While you ponder crawling deeper into this construct you decide that your quest take you foward, not downward into the exploration of ancient wrecks. Exiting the wreck you find yourself in a large clearing with a small cottage seemingly put together out of the scraps of the wreck.
[[Continue|Left 3]]You attempt to light the moss wall on fire with a match however the as soon as your match gets up against the moss it is snuffed out. You try a slightly less damp region of the moss but to no avail. As you try a third time you accidentally drop the matches into the moss wall. After you collect them all you find the moisture from the moss has destroyed what little chance they had of ever igniting.

[[Hide in the wreck|HideEvil]]You run up to the cabin and force open the door. Inside is an old owl staring menacingly at you. She hoots at you as though she is afraid. The rain pours behind you and your mark hums violently.
[[Kill the Owl]]
[[Spare the Owl]]You claw your way into the wreck to wait out the storm. But as you climb through your forget to watch the sharp metal walls which cuts into your side leaving a giant wound. Quickly scrambling you attmept to run outside to find a bandage. However the rain begins to pour and burn into your wounds. Without much shelter you drop from the pain and writhe in agony and the rain punishes you for your deeds as the beast.
Perhaps when the world tell you that you are beast, all they want to is reason to kill you like a beast.
<<link "Restart">><<run UI.restart()>><</link>>You heft the axe with your hand and cleave the owl into pieces. As you do so your reality finishes twisting. You are a Beast. You are the greatest beast. All who enter this forest shall fear your howl and run from your blade. Your stump morphs into claws and you walk into the rain, which sears your back as you rip a piece of the owls cabin to make a blade worthy of the beast.
Perhaps when told you are a beast for your entire life the only option to become that beast.
<<link "Restart">><<run UI.restart()>><</link>>You temper your anger and put your axe down. You are tired and owl seems kind. You look at your stump to see that it was never covered in bandages in the first place. You look at the old woman and she comforts you as you feel your life force drain. Your mark begins to glow $color again. You allow yourself to go peacefully, you escaped the beast inside.
Perhaps the world tells you that you are a beast in the hope that you will sacrifice yourself to not become one.

You take several steps back before sprint full force at the ravine. When you reach the very lip on the cliff you leap and soar towards the otherside. At first you think you will make it, however quickly you realize you are falling to fast and you scrape yourself along the side of the cliff. You can feel your shirt being ripped and blood wetting the cliff face. However you manage to just barely grip the cliff side avoiding falling to certain death. You don't have much time, it will take all your stamina to avoid certain death.

Confident in your ability to jump the ravine you start sprinting from where you stand. As you reach the edge of the ravine you feel energized and jump like your life depended on it (which it does). You soar quickly across the gap and land on the otherside unharmed. You managed to escape the forest which has claimed so many and trapped the unworthy

You hit several sharp rocks which tear at you and your insides as you fall. Your shirt rips and your mark becomes covered in blood as fall, and fall, and fall.
Finally you feel the crushing weight of the world below as you reach the bottom. What you expected to be the quick release of death however does not come. You are battered, bloody, and barely clinging to life but you are alive. The adrenaline of your entire body burning jolts you like a second wind. Anything could kill you down here but you still have a chance if you can make it back to the top.

<<link "Restart">><<run UI.restart()>><</link>>Around you are sharp jagged walls that tore you up as you fell. Behind you the ravine seems to stretch infinitely but ahead of you is a dark cave. Without much choice you limp ahead into the cave. Water from ancient aquifers drops from the ceiling and begin to crawl through the cave. As you explore the ancient cave you find the corspe of a man covered in a strange cloth and hardened armor. The cloth is torn to shreds revealing that they too probably fell down the ravine but they did not live much longer. On the wall behind them is a message written in dried blood. While a large part has been wiped away by water and time and parts of it don't even appear to be in your language you do manage to read some of it.
"My na e is Jagard Tharn. I am th C p ain o t e US Ha mo y. We cras ed here f ve w ks ago. I be ieve I am he la t survivor of my sh p. I leave m mark here f r tho e wh find e."
Without much context you can't really understand much of what they wrote. What you do understand is drawin in blood a massive symbol nearly the size of the man. Water marks run through the symbol but the shape is unmistakable. It is the mark which covers your chest, drawn here by a corspe so ancient the bones are disintigrating leaving only their clothes behind. You draw the symbol of your mark upon your hand and then continue throught the cave.
[[Continue|Cave2]]Going deeper into the cave you discover a massive metallic wall. The wall itself is compromised of panel seemingly fused to massive nails which held the wall in place. Toward the right side of the wall however is a gapping hole punched through with weapon far stronger then anything possible today. The metal is sharp but you just barely avoid cutting yourself again. On a sign on the wall are two words with directions to each "Medical" and "Bridge"

A wall lights up and seems to show you, but really what your injuries are. Then the room comes to life. A sound blips out from the walls and room falls dark and quiet. Then without even a seconds pause you find yourself on the other side of the ravine.

It seems far tougher then iron but has a very similar appearance and is rusted similary to it. As you continue dig through the moss you feel a sharp pain on your hand and arm. A quick look shows that you have a deep cut into your hand and arm. Luckily the metal was sharp to an entrance punched into this strange metal wreckage.
Inside you discover an extensive interior buried just under the surface of the forest floor.
